Motor-Driven Starch Hydrocyclone for High-Efficiency Separation in Cassava Processing Plants

Starch milk is delivered by a starch pump through the hydrocyclone’s feed inlet into the cylinder’s middle cavity. The starch paste then enters the cyclone tube’s inlet and flows tangentially into the tube’s interior. Inside the cyclone tube, the material components rotate in a spiral path, generating centrifugal force. Components with lower relative density—such as proteins and water—experience weaker centrifugal force. They move spirally downward, encounter reduced resistance near the cone’s lower section, and rise through the bottom outlet via a counter-rotating spiral vortex, finally discharging through the overflow port. This process achieves effective separation of each component.
